When Three Hands Just Aren't Enough

We're counting down to the start of the $200,000 Sunday Guaranteed Tournament (are you registered yet?) but another tournament is still getting a lot of attention even though the players making the news are long gone. On Friday Phil Hellmuth was knocked out of the NBC National Heads-Up Championship by Tom "durrrr" Dwan. On the third hand Dwan moved all-in with pocket Tens and Phil called with Aces. Dwan spiked a Ten on the turn and that, as you might expect, vexed Phil just a little bit.
On his blog Phil posted a recap of their match titled "Bad beat A-A down: Durr plays poorly, but beats me anyway!!" Phil didn't much like Dwan risking all his chips with pocket Tens, and then wrote, "Durr handled himself with class, albeit he did what all the young guys do when they're a bit insecure, he challenged me to play heads up for $100,000".

That $100K heads-up challenge has been the talk of the online poker forums, with talk that there was to be a series of thirty $100,000 heads-up matches. Of course there's been some sniping at Phil's expense, but if these two actually agree to sit down and play heads-up for huge stakes, I'm buying stock in Orville Redenbacher. Because there are gonna be lots of people grabbing a big bowl of popcorn and tuning in for the fireworks.
