What To Do In Aruba...

If you're playing in the Aruba Poker Classic next week you may be wondering, "What am I gonna do down there?" Now, they say there's no such thing as a stupid question...but that is a stupid question.
It's Aruba! If there's a more beautiful spot on Earth I'd love to see it. The water is a crystalline blue you don't see outside of the tropics, and taking a dip is like slipping into a giant, glorious Jacuzzi. Or you can just lie on the beach, soak up the sun, and watch the clouds float by.
Of course, if you going to Aruba at this particular time, you're going to play poker. And while the Main Event doesn't start until Tuesday, you'll still find lots and lots of action before then. We'll be running satellites for the Main Event on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and there will also be $500 and $1,000 daily poker tournaments as well. If you don't want to invest that much time or money, we'll also have $120 Sit-N-Goes running as well. If you want to know when these games will be held you can find the schedule here.
There you'll also find a list of activities that you won't want to miss. Of course you'll go to the Welcome Banquet Sunday night, where you can dine and drink and dance the night away. Just don't overdo it, because on Monday at 10AM our Team UB pros (including Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke) will be hosting a World Series of Poker Academy. If you're playing in the Main Event and, uh, your game needs a bit of help, what better way to get a tune-up than instruction from some of the best players in the world? Attendence is limited to 200 players, so send us an email to let us know you'll be coming!
There will be events with our pros held every evening after the Main Event starts, featuring such relaxing activities as wine-tasting, martini-tasting, and sushi-tasting. Arrive hungry and thirsty. There will be free salsa dancing lessons on Friday--and yes, if Phil Hellmuth is there, I'll be on the scene with my camera. What am I saying, Phil will still be in the tournament, probably the chip leader.
And, of course, all the action will be recorded for posterity on the Arublog, where you and your friends and family can follow the action and see what a fantastic time everyone is having. Even for those poor souls who get knocked out on the most horrific bad beats...you're in ARUBA! Don't rant and rave...hit the beach! Make the best of an incredible situation!
