Sure, I guess we can agree that Christmas Eve is nice and all. The family gets together to drink wine and shoot the bull and eat a whole lotta fish and pirogi. At least that's what my family does, and I'm sure lots of people do something along those lines. You eat well, drink well, and then the kids go off to bed to dream of sugarplums (or whatever kids dream about these days) and everyone wakes up on Christmas Day to engage in another bout of family binge eating. Good times.
But then, just like that, Christmas is over. The 26th rolls around and it's back to work. Just as you were getting used to eating ham and turkey and pirogi four times a day...poof! The leftovers are gone! And you're back to eating baked chicken, frozen vegetables, and Lean Cuisines. Hardly seems fair to tease people like that.
Well, maybe nothing much is going on the eve of the UltimateBet Online Championships...unless you include our usual slate of poker tournaments and cash games. But starting tomorrow we're offering 13 huge poker tournaments spread out over 10 days. From the 7th to the 16th you can play in some of the biggest events in online poker, and if you happen to miss one event, there's another one scheduled the following day (or maybe even later in the same day). You have time to get into the swing of things-- into the tournament spirit, if you will--without feeling like it all was over before it even began.
And if you happen to get deep in a UBOC event and pick up a nice chunk of change, well, that's extra money you can lavish on your family during the holidays. Or, if you're a fan of the Grinch, you can keep your winnings to yourself and buy so much ham and turkey and pirogi that you can stuff yourself silly right up to New Year's Eve. I (and your doctor) wouldn't recommend that, since this is the season for giving, not receiving. Unless your bankroll really needs an injection of fresh capital...in that case I think even Santa would approve.
Tomorrow we kick things off at 8pm EDT with a $100,000 Guaranteed 6-handed NL Hold-Em event. And the party goes on from there.
