The $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event attracted some of the biggest names in poker, including Annie Duke, who made yet another deep run in an Omaha event. She made it down to the final two tables before she was crippled in a hand with eventual winner Robert Mizrachi. One of these days she's gonna win one of those big confrontations late on Day 2 and make the final table with some chips, but on this night Annie finished in 17th place and collected $28,040.
Phil Hellmuth collected his record 63rd World Series of Poker cash in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold-Em (with rebuys) event. His 95th place finish (good for $4,840) didn't quite satisfy him, though. "I can't believe it," Phil said after he was knocked out. "I played ten times as good as the rest of the field. This was the first time in two days I got my money in with the worst of it." A few of the players at his table didn't agree with his "ten times as good" statement, but calculations of that sort are always a bit subjective. A bit. Especially when Phil is involved.
