You'd figure that as a poker blogger thinking about the game takes up a lot of my time. And you'd be right. Between reading about poker and writing about poker and, once in awhile, even playing the odd hand or two, I'm pretty much immersed in poker culture. But I must admit that I haven't kept up with Poker After Dark lately. It's on too doggone late, I keep forgetting to record it (yeah, don't have TiVo yet), and frankly I need to step back once in awhile and remind myself that there's a world beyond the green felt. And once the full horror of that hits me I throw in a High Stakes Poker DVD and play a quick sit-n-go to soothe my nerves.

But if I haven't been watching PAD the last few months it's going to be appointment television in my home starting this Monday. Because next week they're having a special group of players sitting down for the winner-take-all $120,000 prize--a group they're calling the "Hecklers". And look at the lineup:
  • Phil Hellmuth
  • Mike "The Mouth" Matusow
  • Shawn Sheikhan
  • Jean-Robert Bellande
  • Sam Grizzle
  • Gavin Smith
Suffice to say, that's gonna be one loud table. Will Phil and Sam come to blows as they once did a few years back, or will Matusow and Sheikhan finally throw down? I'm a bit surprised that Tony G wasn't included in the roster, but perhaps NBC is afraid that the FCC might've stepped in and said, "We don't allow profanity on the airwaves, we don't allow nudity, and we ain't allowing this".
