You are no doubt watching the opening episodes of the World Series of Poker Main Event tonight. And, no doubt, you've been looking to see if I actually appear on the broadcast. OK, maybe you haven't, but God knows I have. And so far I've been shut out. Well, I can't be sure--I think that's me sitting at the table behind Norm MacDonald when he got knocked out. But Norm didn't get outta the way and I can't be sure. I see some freeze-framing in my future.
So the WSOP Main Event will be running on ESPN the next six weeks or so, but if that isn't enough to satisfy your poker cravings, fear not. The greatest show of them all, High Stakes Poker, kicks off it's fourth season next Monday at 9PM. Phil Hellmuth is playing again this season, as are the usual suspects--Brunson, Negreanu, Greenstein, Farha. In fact, GSN has a really cool poster to promote Season Four, just as they had a nice photo for last year.
High Stakes Poker is back. Gabe Kaplan, bricks of Benjamins, and the biggest game on TV. It's Christmas in August.
UPDATE: Uh, I think I saw myself as the second episode ended. If that WAS me, I really gotta lose some weight. I know they say the tube add ten pounds, but sheesh.
UPDATE UPDATE: It wasn't me. Thank God.
Still gotta lose some weight.
