The Power of Social Media

I've linked to Radley Balko's "Agitator" blog a few times to point out posts he's written about the U.S. government's short-sighted and hypocritical attempts to ban online poker. Balko will be speaking at a Poker Players Alliance meeting in Washington next week, and to drum up some interest the PPA asked members to make videos that tell their own personal poker stories. Making a video these days is ridiculously easy--all you need is a $150 digital camera and you're in business. Upload it to YouTube and you're in show business.
Balko links to a video made by a poker player named Chris Young, and I urge you in the strongest possible terms to check it out. It's simple, direct, honest, and powerful. A big-time ad agency couldn't come up with a more effective spot. It also shows that you don't need famous talking heads or fancy graphics to make the case for poker. The game, and the people who play it, make the case for themselves.
