With my Steelers crapping the bed yesterday and losing their playoff game (a shout-out to the police negotiators who talked me off the ledge this morning!) Sundays have once again lost their quasi-religious status. No more NFL games, at least none that I care about. I mean, how can anyone get excited about a Giants-Buccanneers playoff game? Even people in New York (well, New Jersey) and Tampa Bay? These teams are actually in the playoffs? Really?

So that means I (and NFL fans around the country) have to find some way of getting through those endless Sunday afternoons. Actually, if only they WERE endless. Because that damned Monday morning is coming up fast. But what are you gonna talk around the water cooler come that Monday morning when you can no longer complain about the horrible state of NFL officiating?

Well, why not tell everyone about how you made a big score playing in a poker tournament? Everyone likes to hear that kind of story, especially if you bring doughnuts to the office so everyone can share in your glory.
