Phil Breaks His Own Record--Again

Make that fifty-NINE World Series of Poker cashes for Phil Hellmuth. Down to the felt a few hours into last night's event Phil got up off the mat, fought his way up to around 18,000, and then won a dramatic hand that had everyone gathered tight around his table.
A short-stack moved in for 3,125 and Phil just called. Afterwards he made a point of this--he didn't raise, he just called. The player in the big blind raised to 6,075.
And that's when Phil did one of his superfast, two handed stackshoves that sent hundreds of chips splashing across the felt. The avalanche buried his cards and made it impossible for the big blind (or anyone else) to figure out how much Phil's raise was. Which didn't sit especially well with a few of the players at Phil's table, who didn't appreciate how long sorting the situation out would take.
After the floorman unearthed Hellmuth's cards and they re-stacked his chips it was determined that the raise was an additional 5,000 or so. "Guess what I have?" Phil said to a reporter standing nearby. "Write down on your pad there what you think I have." While Phil played to the crowd, the player in the big blind thought about what he should do:
The other player gave the situation some thought before making the call. He turned over QQ, the shortstack had JJ...and Phil had pocket KK. Of course, earlier in the tournament Phil's Kings were cracked by Jacks...
But not this time. This time his hand held up and he all but tripled up. He finished the day with 60,000 in chips, in the money, and with a chance to make a run at another final table. And, yes, maybe even an eleventh bracelet.
