One Is The Lonliest Number

As the $200,00 Sunday Guaranteed Tournament started yesterday I watched the number of entrants climb inexorably toward 1,000. The tournament began and as there was still time to seat alternates I sat on tenterhooks as the counter click, click, clicked toward that magic number.
"Come on!" I squealed as we hit 999 with spare seconds to go before the next level. But, alas, 'twasn't meant to be. Yes, we had 999 players in last night's event, every one of them a supremely gifted player no doubt favored by the Poker Gods. If you didn't play in last night's tournament, tsk tsk. Go look at yourself in the mirror. If you can.
To the tables! Once again a few familiar names navigated the field to make the final table. Including Brian "WarrickDunn28" Hawkins, who finished 9th in the Sunday Guaranteed back on January 27th. Alas, Hawkins was only able to advance one spot further last night, going out in 8th place. And, making matters worse, the Falcons released Warrick Dunn today. Hopefully the $4,500 he earned will make Hawkins feel a bit better on this unhappy day.
It ended up being a busy night for Marco "noraflum" Johnson. Not only did he finish four in our $200K event, he finished third in another big tournament at a site That Shall Not Be Named. Final tabling one major online event is something to be proud of; making two final tables in one night smacks of showing off. Still, a remarkable Sunday night.
The eventual winner was the amusingly-named flopoholic, who finished just short of our final table back in August. This time he pushed past the bubble and took down the title and the $45,000 first prize, besting DannyMac31 in the heads-up battle. Both players posted their best-ever tournament scores yesterday, and the same could happen to you, if you sign up and play next week. We're looking for just one more player...well, at least one more player. We'll have no trouble making room if we shatter the 1,000 player barrier next week.
