Annie Duke was just eliminated in her match at the NBC National Heads-Up Tournament. J.C. Tran won the pivotal pot when his pocket Eights held up against Annie's A-10 of diamonds, and a few minutes later Annie moved in with 10-6 and Tran called with a dominating 10-9. The board didn't provide the help she needed and it's Tran who moves on to the second round.

Reading over the updates it seems like every other match turned on a cooler or appalling suckout. Don Cheadle had Gus Hansen dominated with pocket Jacks against K-J. Hansen flopped a King. Bill Edler flopped a flush...but Scotty Nguyen flopped a bigger flush. Chris Moneymaker and Jerry Yang faced off in a battle of Cinderella stories, but it looks like all the praying Yang did at last year's WSOP is still paying dividends as he hit a 2-outer on the river to eliminate Moneymaker. Greg Raymer also hit a 2-outer to advance. And, of course, UB's Phil Hellmuth also went out thanks to a 2-outer. If you play in a heads-up tournament, you not only need to bring your A-game, you also need to bring some Pepto-Bismol.
