Now We're Talking About Some Real Money

When Jerry Yang won the World Series of Poker Main Event last year he took home $8.25 million. Not bad, I guess. The year before Jamie Gold won the title and $12.1 million. That's nice.

But if you'd like to take home some SERIOUS money this year at the World Series you would do well to qualify for your seat here at UltimateBet. First of all, we're giving our players all sorts of ways to win their seats on the cheap--or free. Why pony up ten dimes for a Main Event seat when UB is GIVING them away?

Once your seat is secured and you spend the better part of a fortnight hacking your way through the Main Event field, you'll be in line for a tidy payday once you reach the final table. Even the unlucky soul who finishes 9th will, at minimun, take home hundreds of thousands of dollars. That's not bad, mind you, but how about we sweeten the pot a bit?

If you qualify for your Main Event seat at UltimateBet and wear your stylish UB Army gear throughout the tournament, you'll be in line to make some extra cash should you make the final table. Did I say "some"? I meant LOTS. Lots and lots and LOTS.

Maybe you're afraid that what I think is "lots" really ain't that much. Well, let me break it down for you--this is how much UB will pay you should you reach the final table:
  • 1st - $10 million
  • 2nd - $5 million
  • 3rd - $3 million
  • 4th - $1 million
  • 5th - $300,000
  • 6th - $250,000
  • 7th - $150,000
  • 8th - $150,000
  • 9th - $150,000
In case your eyes are bugging out and your jaw is on the floor, I'll speak slowly to make sure you get it. Should you win the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event, UltimateBet will pay you TEN MILLION DOLLARS. That's on top of whatever pocket change you collect for winning the thing.

And all you have to do is wear the UB Army gear that we'll hand out to all our players before the Main Event begins. I'm not sure yet what it'll look like, but seeing that UltimateBet has the greatest color scheme in the history (Black and Gold...yes, I'm from Pittsburgh) you'll be lookin' good as ESPN cameras zero in for your close-up.

Ten million dollars. That should be enough to hold your attention. That and the bracelet, I guess.
