Indulge In The Madness

Before the start of any World Series of Poker event there's a bit of electricity in the air. Someone in the room is going to win a much-coveted WSOP bracelet and a life-altering amount of money. And every person taking their seat thinks that this could truly be their turn. The tension ratchets up a notch when they hear the call of "Shuffle up and deal!", and for a few hands there's an almost funereal silence in the room as hundreds of nervous players focus on their cards and nothing else.

Rebuy events, as the saying goes, are quite the other thing. Players arrive in a boisterous mood, their pockets filled with the cash and casino chips they'll need to fuel their quest for a monster stack. The fields are top-heavy with deep-pocketed pros, who banter back and forth about how many rebuys they're willing to make. No one in a rebuy tournament is content to sit by passively and wait for Aces--the play is super loose and super aggressive and if you're seated at a table with a couple of total maniacs you could be in for a very bad time if you don't pick up a few hands. During the rebuy period many players are there to gamble, and gamble big. They aren't worried about  the mountains of chips piling up around the table--those are chips they'll just win back later, once they've hit a few hands and built up their stack. They want to get their chips in the middle if they think its a good spot and, if it ain't, proudly utter the battle cry that soon fills the air--"REBUY!!!".

Obviously, playing in a rebuy event can get very expensive very fast, especially if you're the sort who gets into the spirit of things and can't help joining in on the rebuy insanity. Often the best laid plans soon go awry--you promised yourself you'd rebuy a maximum of three times (plus the add-on), but the next thing you know you're digging in your wallet for rebuy #10 because these players are CRAZY and if you can just hit a flop or two you'll be in business! Playing in rebuy events can be intoxicating. They're a lot of fun. But they can also leave a serious mark on your bankroll.

Which is why UltimateBet is giving its players a chance to indulge in rebuy tournaments without depleting their accounts. Every night at 9pm ET UltimateBet is hosting a $1 Pro Rebuy Madness event. For the first 30 minutes of the tournament you can rebuy as many times as you want--and each 1,500=chip rebuy costs you a buck. At the end of the rebuy period you can opt to add-on  3,000 chips, or even do a double add-on for 6K. And as they say, in a rebuy event the tournament doesn't actually begin until the rebuy period comes to an end.

So, want to dip your toe into the shark-infested rebuy pool and see how you fare? Interested on trying out some new rebuy-tourney strategy? Or are you just in the mood to go totally bonkers and try to steamroll your table by pushing with any two cards? No matter your motivation, you can play in our $1 Pro Rebuy Madness events, have a blast, and not cause fatal injury to your bankroll.

And so far the fields and the prize pools for these events have been jaw-dropping. Our rebuy event on Friday had 1,059 players, who rebought 2,110 times and did 1,320 add-ons. The winner of the event (a player named timmjosh) won...wait for it...$1,100.01. Over a thousand bucks for a tourney with a $1 entry fee. And that was Friday, how about the tournaments over the weekend? On Saturday 1,481 players rebought 2,653 times and purchased 1,593 add-ons. The eventual victor, johnamy1, pocketed $1,212.13. And our Sunday rebuy event topped them all--1,602 players, 2,531 rebuys, 1,700 add-ons, and $1,225.80 for the winner, rkymtnoystr. I think you begin to see why we call them Pro Rebuy MADNESS events.

If not, how about this--at least one of our Team UltimateBet pros will be playing in each Pro Rebuy Madness events. If you knock out P0ker H0 or Debo34 or Shawn Rice or Scott Ian, in addition to their chips you'll instantly win the amount they spent on rebuys. And lets just say that these guys are not shy about shouting "REBUY!!" at the top of their lungs. In one event Debo34 rebought fifty-three times. Fifty-three!! Heck, how do you lose that many hands that fast??

So if you're looking to shake up your tournament schedule a bit, be sure you join us every night at 9pm ET sharp. Bring a fistfull of dollars, take a deep breath, and surrender to the Rebuy Madness.
