Hammer Time!

When I sit down with my blogging brethren we make playing a certain junk hand a point of pride. Every time we're dealt the worst starting hand in poker--Seven-Deuce--it's time to raise it up. And if you manage to bluff or bully everyone out of the pot you MUST show it down and rub their noses in it. This nonsense all started with one of my blogging heroes, the unfortunately nicknamed Grubby, and he also gave 7-2 a nickname that's slowly but surely working it's way into the poker lexicon. We call it "The Hammer".
Last week I mentioned that every time someone collects Annie Duke's bounty during the $200,000 Guaranteed Tournament they're holding Aces. Well, not this week. No, this week Annie was knocked out by xduckhook, who magically transformed The Hammer into a club flush that beat the pair Annie made on the turn. Now, I didn't see the hand and don't know if xduckhook played The Hammer "properly" (raise preflop, raise after the flop, raise, raise, raise) but I tip my hat at his moxie. And I wonder what Annie thought of the play. Hmm.
Devin "TranquilChaos" Porter found himself with pocket Kings against plastikcards's pocket fives. Everything looked good until, Presto! A five on the turn! One that made Devin disappear into thin air.
Shawn Rice and Mark "P0kerH0" Kroon both ended their nights when their opponents had them dominated. ArmyDrill trumped Shawn with A-K vs K-Q, and despite his online name bigtenincher didn't need to overcompensate for anything when his A-K bested H0's A-4.
And it wouldn't be a recap of the week's Bounty hands without at least one member of Team UltimateBet runnind Jacks into Aces! This time it was Gary "debo34" DiBernardi's turn, falling to macker21's bullets. He actually made a set of Aces on the flop, which was just unnecessary.
