Phil Hellmuth is still alive and well in the World Series of Poker Main Event. With 189 players left Phil has 581,000 chips, which is a bit below average but still over 55 big blinds. And that's a lot for a patient guy like Phil.

Not that Phil didn't have a few testy, Phil-like moments yesterday. I didn't quite hear the tirade he had while he was playing at the ESPN TV table but he lost a hand to a player holding the nuts and in mid-spew the crowd started laughing hard, so that's probably going to be on TV. As will a big hand Phil won against Evelyn Ng where Evy fired three shells and Phil called her ace-high down with top pair. Hopefully the cameras missed Phil calling a player an "idiot from Northern Europe" and throwing his sunglasses across the room. Then again, that's the stuff the fans WANT to see. They also probably wouldn't mind seeing Phil making the final table, either, so we'll see how his day progresses.
