Flops! Bets! Singing!

I'm no quite sure what to make of this just yet, but I'm supposed to keep you abreast of all that's happening in the poker world so, here goes--I've just learned that there is going to be a musical based on poker held at the Rio on July 4th and 5th. The show is called All In: The Poker Musical and is described as a "...fast-paced, witty, very sexy and fun show about the final nine players at the World Series of Poker who are real people from all walks of life--the professionals and the common man. The game of life is just like poker!"

A press release was sent out tonight and Phil Hellmuth was quoted thusly-- "Through the lyrics of the songs and style of music, we see not only who these final nine players are, but we are able to see ourselves, our families, and our world". That's some heavy lifting those lyrics have to do.

One of the characters in the musical is apparently based on the Poker Brat himself. And, apparently, one of the songs has the following line--"I can dodge bullets baby, but I can't dodge you."

Uh...huh. The musical has a limited engagement so buy your tickets now. As more information about this, um, interesting project comes to light I will post details. I will probably be covering the Main Event on those days so I won't be able to write a review. Probably.
