It seems hard to believe, but we're just one month away from the start of the Aruba Poker Classic. A $2.5 million prize pool. Some of the biggest names in poker in attendance. And...it's in Aruba. Ever been there? I hadn't either, until I covered last year's Classic. It wouldn't be accurate for me to say that the weather was perfect every single day, because in all my years I'd never experienced weather that was so heavenly. Ninety degrees, sunshine, low humidity, offshore breeze. Every day. It was almostly like living in some divine biosphere, where insane but benevolent scientists kept conditions pitch-perfect for ten days straight.

That's a picture I took from my balcony last year. Don't ask me which day I took it--every day looked like that. No, one day there was a freighter anchored offshore. But other than that, every day was that beautiful.
About the only thing that might lure you inside and away from this tropical paradise...is a poker game. And that's what makes playing a big event in Aruba such a joy--there are no bad beats. Your Aces got cracked by some jackass holding Q-4 offsuit? Crap, now you gotta lounge on the beach the rest of the week!
