I mentioned in my previous post that Jennifer Tilly is one of the celebrity players on The Best Damn Poker Show. She said she was excited to play and to learn from a pro like Annie Duke.
It looks like Ms. Tilly learned her lessons well. She's in 3rd place going into Day Four of the L.A. Poker Classic. This WPT event is one of the biggest tournaments of the year and she's sitting with 569,000 chips, just behind a gentleman named Phil Ivey.
But. Lurking in the depths is another Phil--Phil Hellmuth. Yes, the manager of the team Tilly must do battle with on the Best Damn Poker Show is still in the hunt at the Commerce Casino. Phil enters play today with an even 100,000, ammuntion enough to take his time, pick his spots, and play make a run at his first WPT title. We'll keep an eye on things and see how Jennifer and Phil progress.
UPDATE: What did I say about Phil Hellmuth having time to pick his spots? CardPlayer now has Phil with 730,000 in chips. I have no idea how the heck he managed to increase his stack sevenfold is such a short stretch of time (not a word about him is to be found in the live updates) but they now have Phil in 3rd place, behind Phil Ivey and Jennifer Tilly.
