Applause for Brian

Sigh, UltimateBet's Brian Gabrielle won't be making his television debut at the World Poker Open in Tunica. Brian was just knocked out in 11th place, five places away from tomorrow's televised final table.
It looks like Brian had a tough day of it. He started off 5th in chips out of the remaining 18, but early on lost about a third of his stack (neither CardPlayer nor Bluff detailed what happened). He hung on as one of the shortstacks as a number of other players were knocked out. On his final hand Brian found himself with a big pair, pocket jacks, only to run into Matt Russell's pocket kings. The flop of 10-9-7 gave Brian a gutshot draw as well, but the board bricked out and Brian's run in Tunica came to an end. He won $34,274 for his efforts, which probably comes as small consolation right now. Jacks, and he runs into kings. It can be a cruel game.
