Annie Duke Makes Another Final Table

The $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo event attracted a star-studded field, many of whom no doubt thought that the mixed-game format favored the most talented poker players. Walking around the Amazon Room it seemed like every table had three or four name-brand players trying to scoop chips from players not as familiar with split-pot games.

The final two tables were played in the shadow of the new Final Table stadium Harrah's built for this year's World Series, and the mob of spectators who crowded around to watch them play down to the final eight saw a number of well-known faces. Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. Scotty Nguyen. Josh Arieh.

And UltimateBet's Annie Duke, who arrives at this afternoon's final table in 2nd place with $239,000 chips. Annie had some ups and downs during the day (especially with a few dealers who had trouble correctly splitting up chopped pots) but she's in great position to win her second bracelet.

After Josh Arieh as eliminated on the TV bubble and the players bagged their chips, Annie performed the usual dance the top pros have to go through in the jam-packed Amazon Room. She took a picture with a fan, hugged a few friends sweating her from the rail, and then she ducked under a rope and headed straight for the exits.

ESPN hasn't decided whether they're going to tape this event or the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold-Em event, but though the public might find Hold-Em a bit easier to follow than split-pot games, the sheer firepower at this final table might make them think twice. Coverage of the final table kicks off at 6pm ET, so you can follow along and hopefully root Annie on to the bracelet.
