A H.O.R.S.E. With All Names

OK, the $10,000 World Championship is called the Main Event--but the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event is the Crown Jewel of the World Series of Poker. Maybe the winner of the Main Event is called the World Champion, but the player who wins the $50K H.O.R.S.E. is called the Best in the World.

Both Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth are playing in the H.O.R.S.E event even as we speak. Annie has 270,000 chips, Phil has 230,000. And both have drawn murderously tough tables. Of course, in this event EVERY table is pretty sick. But here's who's sitting with Annie:

Isabelle Mercier
Patrick Antonius
Dewey Tomko
Toto Leonidas
Max Pescatori

Annie Duke

And the players enjoying Phil's company this evening?

John "Johnny World" Hennigan
Dan Shak
Barry Greenstein
David Oppenheim
Kristy Gazes
Mark Gregorich

Phil Hellmuth

If I may venture a comment here...holy crap. Maybe that explains why there are people lined three-deep around the H.O.R.S.E. players. Every table is more loaded than the most loaded final table you've ever seen. Except maybe for last year's H.O.R.S.E. final table, which is considered by many to be the greatest final grouping in poker history. We'll keep an eye on Annie and Phil's progress in the toughest poker tournament in the world.
