Time for Change

If you have logged onto Ultimate Bet this past week you've undoubtedly seen a wholesale change in the tournament schedule, as well as a bunch of pretty sweet promotions. This is due to a commitment by the new management team to allow Annie Duke to serve as the new card room manager. This move may be viewed in a lot of different ways. I've heard hundreds and hundreds of comments this week ranging from the good to the bad, the majority of which are very positive. I believe the majority of the players felt it was time for a change, and I couldn't agree more.

For me this is an exciting time. This is what I do, I play tournament poker and I consider UB my home turf. What better for me to not only have a rebuilt schedule that will cater to all levels of players, but have this on my home turf. Even more I get to have a voice into some of the changes.

What I do know is that Annie is an absolute workhorse. Anyone that knows her should expect nothing but perfection from her. I really believe that she won't stop until she is satisfied that all players at each and every level are happy. The hard part in all of this is that it is going to take time. It was a pretty ballsy move to scrap the entire tournament schedule and start over. I remember the first conversation I had with her on this. She had to stop my bitching midstream to explain what her master plan was. When she unfolded it all to me I was like hmmmm ok…I really like what you have going here!

It has been a very hectic week for all associated with UB. I as well as all the team have spent countless hours talking with players about all of this. In the end I can easily sum it up in a few words.

I believe in Annie and all of the management team. I believe that this bold move will benefit all tournament players in the end. Please be patient.
