The Best Damn Poker Show Period

While in Aruba, UltimateBet held auditions for a reality T.V. show. The show was going to be similar to many reality formats. A group of contestants, competitions, and eliminations. Phil Hellmuth would represent one team and Annie Duke the other. Shawn Rice was selected as captain of Annie's team, while I was captain of Phil's.
This is the reason I arrived at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California in early December. We had an incredible stay, at an incredible place. From the moment I got there, I knew it was going be a blast. In the lobby were some of the celebrities for the show. Scott Ian (Lead guitarist for Anthrax), Sully Erna (Lead singer of Godsmack), Jennifer Tilly, Patrick Warburton (Putty from Seinfeld, Elaines Boyfriend), to name a few. Oh wait, how could I forget, the most gorgeous girl in the world, Serinda Swan. She is the Guess jeans model in case you don't know. On top of that, there were some great friends and great players I've met over the years. Debo34, Mike "Wisco" Murray, Tracy "FatCats" Scala, Rob Cunningham, and Jon Green.
There were a lot of people there, and in all honesty I probably left a few names out, but I cant give away the show to much either. What I can tell you though is I never realized how much went into making a show and how many people are involved. We filmed for 3 days, and everyone of those days were 14 hour days. By the end of the day everyone was on edge from the long hours and hard competition. I started to think maybe this is the secret behind all the drama you see on these shows. Just put people together long enough, to the point where they are sick of each other. Whatever it takes for good T.V. though right?
After everyone kissed and made up, we all went to play the wildest cash game ever. Even Phil came to play. There were a couple 4k pots in that game. Keep in mind it was only 1-2 NL game. By the end of the night things were so out of hand, that we had to make a rule that the most you could bet in any hand was $60. That only made things worse as, everyone just went in for $60 preflop and it was a 10 handed race for about another hour.
Once again the greatest thing about these poker trips and going to tournaments is meeting new friends and this show was no exception.
Now im off to vegas for Phils Xmas party at the Palms Playboy Club. Stay tuned………
