I played the $2500 NLHE on Saturday, I was really excited when the day started to get my first wsop tourney of the year under my belt. I didnt have much to play the first hour or so, just kinda sat back and was waiting for a good spot and trying to get a feel of the table. The blinds were 50-100 when I looked down on the button and saw Q-Q a very agressive player in mid position raises to 325, I reraise and make it 900. After a bit of thought he calls, the flop comes 10-8-4 he checks and I bet 1700, he calls. A 10-turns, I really dont put him on a ten here because my reraise should have made A-10 fold so im really only worried about him having kings or tens here. I sure he woulda reraised me back with aces. So after he checks I have 2600 chips left and i really dont love my hand but i put them in the pot, he insta calls with quad tens and gg P0ker H0.
Around 11 pm that night Phil gets knocked out and we figure going to play mini golf for 1k a hole would be a good way to get poker out of our brains for awhile. The teams were me and Tracy Scala -vs-Phil and Jon Green. Thank god Tracy can putt, cuz i was bad but the 2k we won helps the bankroll and the bragging rights with Phil.
Sunday was online poker day as I was knocked out of the UB 200k the 4th hand of the tourny when my KK was bad beat by AA, GG H0.
Monday was the $1500 WSOP shootout. I love shootouts because they are just like sit n go's and I have played a million sit n go's. We only start with 3000 chips, so I really wanted to make sure I got my chips in good early and not to donk any off. Well, it was a nice thought :) After about ten min of play I raise 150 with A-K of diamonds, the small blind reraises to 550 and I call, the flop comes 4d-6d- jc, he leads out for 750, now if I call here, half my chips are in the pot. I thought he had a Big hand but its a good flop for my hand. I thought I could hit any dimond, ace or king and probably win, so i shoved :( and i was wrong he had aces and i did not get a dimond GG H0.
I am not really very happy at this point and my phone rings walking out the door its Phil he is out too and he wants to get his golf $ back:) so Tracy, Debo and I teamed up to play Phil, Jon and Phils ringer Rep. Phil was playing the stud tourny that night so we could only play until 7pm. We went to Rhodes Ranch Counrty Club, a sweet course about 20 min from the Rio. We played for $1700 a hole, $1000 was my bet with phil. We tied the first 5 hole so #6 was worth a ton because we carry over the $ each hole. Phils team hit first and put all there drives out of bounds:) but some how when we got to the green we still needed to make a 8 footer to win the hole. After Debo and i missed Tracy "lights out" Scala drained it:) We went on to win the next hole then Phil had to leave to play the stud event. It was a lot of fun and it really helped get my mind off poker.
