Gearing up

Well it's about that time again, time to hit the road. My schedule is about to get very busy. I leave Wednesday for the LAPC in Los Angeles. I'm looking forward to getting back into playing some live poker, it seems like it's been forever since I have played a live event. I am also looking forward to seeing some of the UB gang. I noticed a lot of friends have qualified through UB and will be there.
After L.A it will get a little hectic with 6 stops in Canada over the course of 3 different weekends for the UB Cross Canada Tour. The whole team, including Annie and Phil, are going to teach poker and do seminars. This will be a lot of fun. In the middle of all this is 2 weeks in Reno as well. I'm glad I've been home close to 2 months, but I am ready to roll.
I have come to a point that usually happens when I am home for a long period of time... online poker burnout. I've had a decent run since the New Year, but recently my focus isn't 100%. I can usually feel this coming a mile away, and am so much better at recognizing when to step away from the computer than I used to be.
I played well all day Sunday with lousy results. Getting it in good deep in a tournament just isn't good enough sometimes as my KK fell to QQ in the UB 200k. Fitting I would lose with KK for about the 900th time this month deep in a tournament. (refer to previous blog to read about my distaste for pocket kings).
I'm going to take 2 days off before I travel to L.A. Tomorrow I am going snowmobiling with my friend Kurt. It is supposed to be a clear sunny day and I hope to snap some pictures of the scenic Cascades to post on here. Getting away from the computer and outdoors is a great relief. I really need to do it more.
