Support Annie Duke in her run for Darfur
San Diego - June 1, 2008

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to a recent injury, Annie Duke will not be running in this event. While the world poker champion must heal in preparation for the next race, she will still be in San Diego to cheer on her fellow UB players and have dinner with those who lace up for AUFA. Follow the directions in option #1 below to get started.

Some run for their lives. Annie Duke is running for the lives of an entire nation.

The San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon takes place on June 1st and UltimateBet's own Annie Duke will be running in support of Ante Up For Africa, a No Limit Texas Hold'em tournament created to raise public awareness and funds for Sudan-related charities.

The situation is definitely grim but there is some good news: the world is finally starting to pay attention, in no small part due to concerned citizens who are ratcheting up the heat on political leaders and demanding an end to the violence.

Last year's inaugural event raised over $700,000 for the victims of the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. The sophomore tournament will be held at this year's World Series of Poker®. With your help, we'll be able to beat that figure.

How you can help:

  1. Race with Annie. Register now to secure your spot in the marathon. When you register, please indicate that you'd like AUFA on your bib. Annie plans on completing the race in just above four hours so if you're out of shape, now's the time to hit the gym. And, if you've already registered and a UB player, let us know so we can add you to the roster. Annie will share a dinner with UB players the night-before the race.
